Saturday, July 7, 2012 – RACE DAY
PARTICIPANTS SHOULD ARRIVE
AT LEAST
90 MINUTES BEFORE THE RACE START.
PARTICIPANT PARKING
ONSITE PARKING
PARTICIPANTS WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY FOR ONSITE PARKING
1. THERE WILL BE LIMITED ONSITE PARKING
- Carpooling is encouraged and appreciated!
2. ACCESS TO ONSITE PARKING WILL ONLY BE FROM 6:00AM TO 8:00AM
– NO EXCEPTIONS!
For safety reasons, there will be no in and out access after 9:00AM and before 11:45AM for individuals
who park onsite.
3. PARKING WILL BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED
4. PRIORITY FOR ONSITE PARKING WILL BE GIVEN TO PARTICIPANTS AND/OR CARS DRIVING
PARTICIPANTS TO THE RACE SITE.
5. WE ASK THAT EVERYONE FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS OF OUR PARKING VOLUNTEERS TO
MAXIMIZE THE NUMBER OF CARS WE ARE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE ONSITE.
OFFSITE PARKING & SHUTTLES
There will be additional offsite parking at Gordon Bay Marine, approximately 3km north of the CNIB along Hwy 69. Volunteers will be posted at the entrance of the CNIB to provide a handout with directions to this area. Shuttle buses will run directly to the CNIB from Gordon Bay Marine from 6:00AM to 8:30AM. The last shuttle for participants departing Gordon Bay Marine that comes onsite will be at 8:15AM.
If you need to park off-site and use the available shuttle, please follow these instructions:
1. FOR PARTICIPANTS BEING DROPPED OFF
There will be a designated ‘Participant Drop Off Area’. Be as organized as possible, aiming to keep your
drop off less than 5 minutes. Volunteers will be there to assist with the unloading of gear.
YOUR DRIVER CAN THEN PROCEED TO THE OFFSITE PARKING AREA
2. FOR PARTICIPANT DRIVING THEMSELVES
Drop off your equipment to the designated ‘Participant Drop Off Area’ and proceed to the offsite parking
area and take the shuttle bus back to camp. Details for the offsite parking area below.
BOAT PARKING
If you are coming from somewhere on the lake, boating is also an excellent option. Arrive between 6:00AM and 8:30AM. There will be volunteers ready to assist with unloading and boat parking. Please follow their instructions. There will be NO BOAT ACCESS AFTER 8:30AM for participants or spectators.
SPECTATOR & VOLUNTEER PARKING
DUE TO LIMITED AVAILABILITY, PARTICIPANTS WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY FOR ONSITE PARKING.
OFFSITE PARKING & SHUTTLES
Offsite parking will be available for spectators and volunteers at Gordon Bay Marine, approximately 3km north of the CNIB along Hwy 69. Volunteers will be posted at the entrance of the CNIB to provide a handout with directions to this area. Shuttle buses will run directly to the CNIB from Gordon Bay Marine from 6:00AM to 8:30AM. The last shuttle departing Gordon Bay Marine that comes onsite will be at 8:15AM. Shuttle running from 8:30AM to 11:30AM will only go as far as the edge of camp. After 11:30AM shuttles will continue to run until 2:30PM between Gordon Bay Marine and the CNIB.
BOAT PARKING
